The World Jazz Studies program

The World Jazz Studies Program is under the direction of Patrick Bowen and Cecil Myers. We are committed to inspiring creative minds in the field of America’s true art form, Jazz. Students undergo a rigorous and competitive audition process in order to be admitted into Las Vegas Academy and to be placed into the appropriate band. The Jazz program has three big bands and offers elective classes in Advanced Instrumental Studies. Students are exposed to world class jazz artists and clinicians including Randy Brecker, Jeff Hamilton, Peter Erskine, Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, Jimmy Cobb, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marlena Shaw, Chris Potter, Louie Bellson, Mike Tomaro, Ndugu Chancler, Clint Holmes, George Garzone, and many more.
